to give more.. understanding to why karkat isn’t/cannot be suicidal/

the only inclination of it we’ve ever seen (and completely mis-interpreted by the fandom) is when he started to believe that the line between the living and the dead was increasingly blurred as he spent more and more time within the dreambubbles. there’s a difference between wanting death and accepting death without actively seeking it.

he accepted meenah’s proposition of what was essentially a suicide mission, but that doesn’t make him suicidal because he basically saw no downside to being dead because to him it was the same as being live–death didn’t have negative connotations and neither did life therefore it wasn’t suicidal. it was just neutral. if he had thought that being dead was better than being alive then it would have been suicidal–but the point is that the two appeared equal.

when i say he saw no difference–i don’t mean because he was ‘i want to die’ depressed. he was just making observations and being philosophical about whether your actions really led to anything. he was being pessimistic sure–but not suicidal.

karkat’s personality is also about proving himself to be better than he thinks he is. his perseverance wouldn’t allow for it or it would be very ooc.

terezi was actually the one who basically said that things would have been better if she didn’t exist ;)
