the common fandom headcanon is that females in alternia generally take on the ‘stereotypical’ role of males in our society–they’re seen as the strongest fighters/hunters ect. therefore females have sacks of muscle/fat that act as protectors for their chest, in some kind of hope that it would protect hearts or ribs ect. i’m not a biology expert so i can’t tell you how how well it works, but it works a hell of a lot better than them producing milk.
