I think people assumed Jake had brain damage because of his scattered memory and the fact that he hit his head so many times in the past along with his planet's element. But it was never said directly that he has brain damage so no one knows for sure. :\

As far as I remember, scatterbrained is simply because he’s him, and last I checked being scatter brained isn’t a sign of brain damage. Also, I remember him only getting hit on his head when brobot and him fought, I never really remember him getting hit on the head any other time

I'm sorry to bug you and even more sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any asks for this so I was wondering if you knew where this whole "jake has brain damage" thing came from and why people think it's canon?

I honestly don’t know. Maybe because apparently the noble gas his land is based on causes brain damage, and the lands are supposed to represent them? I don’t know, but he doesn’t have brain damage, just like how Dirk doesn’t have depression.
