2 other things to add about the dancestors having/not having the same teeth: Latula has flat teeth like the Megidos, while Terezi has sharper teeth; Rufioh has fangs like the Serkets and Maryams, but Tavros has sharper teeth.
are you basing these on the talksprites?
xamag already explained that she totally forgot to give latula teeth, and that hussie apparently didn’t notice either. latula having straight teeth isn’t necessarily canon, it’s a mistake that a fanartist made
as for rufioh: his teeth are also fanmade because they’re from a fanartist
talksprites don’t count as canon because hussie did not draw them, and as xamag pointed out, non-canon mistakes happen as such

we can’t compare talksprites however, aranea, kankri and mituna look like they have the same teeth as vriska, karkat and sollux when in hero mode
uh... feferi was not the empress on beforus. she lived on alternia first of all and second of all she was only heir to being empress on alternia.

the ancestors and descendants essentially swapped roles during the scratch!
