honestly, i think if people are getting upset with us for being short tempered, impatient, or even downright sick of being treated so rudely, or taken for granted… put yourselves in our shoes. imagine getting barraged by the same damn questions that you’ve already answered day in and day out, and being asked to rip the most minuscule things in specific ways EVEN THOUGH if someone actually has a use for these things, they probably have the ability to rip it themselves.
this isn’t something we have to do. it isn’t something anyone has to do. i’d like you all to think back to that brief month where we didn’t do it. yeah, a couple other blogs stepped up. but that was only for the month. imagine if the hiatus had gone on longer. would they have continued on indefinitely? my sources say no. because this really, honestly is like a part time job.
even one of our most upbeat, patient mods said earlier that they were sorry that we have to do this. they realized how, and i quote, shitty this is.
you guys think being a mod is fun and games. it can be fun. but most of the time, it isn’t. it is like a job.
MOD A EDIT: yeah I definitely agree with the whole job thing. it’s a job that we don’t get paid for, and all of the mods here understand that and still do what we do regardless. even if others could do it if we stopped, that doesn’t mean that we aren’t doing it right now. and we’re doing it because we want to, and that’s it. there are thousands of you, and (at the moment) four of us. we’re trying really, really hard, but we aren’t perfect. we never will be. we aren’t robots, or slaves. we’re people with a blog
that last anon was actually the first time we’ve received hate since anon got turned on. the amount of positive support we receive is overwhelming compared to the negative responses, and we are extremely thankful for how nice y'all are.
I’m turning anon off for the rest of the night :(
some mods have more patience than others!! I try as hard as I can to be nice to everyone, but I’m also new here, so I’ve been less worn down by people hiding behind grey masks insulting us.
being a mod is a REALLY hard job, and it’s stressful, and sometimes we aren’t always nice, and I’m sorry about that. but you have to understand that with this kind of work, you can’t have time to be patient sometimes
I’m sorry you’re upset with us. I’ll try to do better in the future
nobody has the hots for tavros
except vriska I guess
as far as mediums go, I’d recommend http://mspfanventures.com/ as that is what the website was made for
in general, the rules all depend on how much you want it to be exactly like homestuck. there are lots of good spriting tutorials on the masterlist. there’s a lot of cool stuff you can find by just googling it.
in general, homestuck is 650x450 (although 650x650 is also used, and a bunch of other sizes but yeah, you get the point) .pngs, .gifs, or .swfs. it’s usually in an “ms paint” style, as in it’s all pixelly and stuff, which is an effect you can get by actually drawing in ms paint or turning off anti aliasing in whatever you use to draw.
a lot of things can be found on the masterlist that are very helpful. the wiki is also helpful. reading homestuck is very helpful
mod b is a veteran, they have to deal with this shit a lot
respect the b-thority
my advice is read homestuck, and read all the wiki pages but ignore the theory stuff. and then ask specific questions if you need to instead of “please give advice” because that’s way too vague
on this page: UU: for instance, a hero of life and a hero of doom have aspects as different as can be.
I can’t find a page where light and void are explicitly stated to be related, though
it probably exists somewhere. no one would ever lie on the internet
