Anon with the newly made fankid again, What I meant specifically was that I want to start roleplaying with a group and that roleplay would be the session I mentioned. But I would like to know more about the independent RP blog thing. I already have a tumblr for my character so maybe that would be a good idea too. Anonymous
i’m afraid we can’t help you when it comes to finding a group and rping within your session, but hopefully some indie tips will serve as a half-decent compensation!
- follow. other. roleplay blogs.
- i cannot stress that enough. the best way to get out there and find new people to rp with is to follow others, and check out who they’re interacting with, and then check out who they're interacting with, and so on and so forth.
- a lot of rpers will make a greeting post every time they gain x number of new followers and tag them in it. it’s a great way to start up interactions with others! they can be short and simple - the longest i’ve seen was less than a paragraph - and there’s no pressure to reply, although many people will at least acknowledge it.
- that said, i’d recommend using five in place of x, due to only the first five tags ending up in tracked tags.
- for original characters, i highly recommend having some sort of about page with information about the universe they’re from and some basic statistics such as age, etc. whether or not you want to include any snippets about their history or personality is up to you, but you may want to keep in mind that people are generally more likely to read shorter, sweeter about pages.
- also, if you reblog an ask meme, it’s common courtesy to send something to the person you reblogged it from.

just a quick question about frog breeding - i know the space player does it, but what player is helping them? ive seen some people say its the knight, but other people have said the time player does it? i know dave helps jade, and kanaya does it in her session, and i think karkat is supposed to help her but idek. thanks! it is NOT the time player and does not necessarily have to be the knight, if anyone. the space player could theoretically do it on their own. the fact that karkat and dave are both knights is a coincidence.
I recently completed making my fankid and I'm pretty happy with her, but I have no idea where to go to start interacting and roleplaying with others and, you know, join a session. I'm not really sure where to go on your blog, is it homestuck games/game mods? It's confusing trying to locate something reliable and active when I don't even know what I'm reading/clicking. Maybe you guys know of a good place to start out? Anonymous
hey, congrats!! i’m not really sure what you mean when you say you want to join a session, though. most people who have fankids involved with sessions have either created the fansessions and other characters on their own, or have made a fansessions with a group of friends who have their own fan characters. if you’re looking for something like that, then i’m afraid we can’t help you. however, if you’re thinking about making an independent rp blog, i could probably give you a few tips, as i know what it’s like to start up an indie blog and have no idea where to go or what to do.
