That citation, while theoretically accurate, doesn't exactly confirm it. We know that at the least, the two of them agreed to go on a date. It is therefore safe to assume that they did or to play it off as not going through with it.

Re : Gamzee's Blood Feud - Purple and Navy Blooded trolls consider themselves at odds with Sea Dwellers, and it's been implied that there was some massive feud between the castes. Equius says something to this effect, and it's possible that Gamzee, having taken to his position, might have embraced said animosity toward the seadwellers. Or, he's bat buggering fucking nuts. Either or, but from a world building sense, I'm inclined to go with the Land/Sea rivalries.
