another thing, the compressions MUST BE at least THREE OR FOUR INCHES deep or it will not pump blood. Chances are, you will break their ribs. Don't flinch at the squish. It's better for them in the long run. Make sure there are no open wounds on the victim's person, or preforming CPR will just make them bleed out faster. For rescue breathing, compressions only need to be 1 or 2 inches deep. After every four repeats, check again for a heartbeat and breathing. No need to preform CPR if they

can breathe and their heart is working on it’s own. Preform breathing and heartbeat checks periodically and frequently until trained medical professionals arrive. For compressions, make sure that your hands are right on top of each other, elbows locked, fingers locked together. Press quickly and deeply on the sternum of the victim. Two people can preform CPR much better than one, taking turns with compressions and breathing! YAY CPR
yeah my friend does first aid and he told me that if you don’t break their ribs then you’re probably not doing it properly and i prayed to god that i’ll never have to do cpr because i can’t break a cracker in half let alone someone’s fucking ribs

Step one for CRP: S.E.T.U.P. Stop and survey the situation. Environment what's going on around you (fire, wire, gas, glass?) Traffic is a car going to hit you? Unknown is there poisonous gas in a science lab? Protection do you have gloves and a mouth barrier so you arent kissing the person or touching their blood? Check for breathing. Make an L shape with your hand and put your pointer under their chin, thumb to neck. Place your ear near their mouth, listening for breathing, watching the chest-- Anonymous
for signs of movement. (mirrors are good for checking breath as well, fogging up the mirror, as well as metal spoons) Call 9-1-1 or have a friend do it. Then you do the landmarking (there are two ways, chest and armpit.) Then you start your 30 compression’s, and give two breaths to the body. Repeat. Continue doing this until someone relieves you.
