so i would think that its silly

it’s not exactly clear but what we do know is that

• it involves horrorterrors

the speculation is that the horrorterrors gain a significant portion of control over a character and for this to happen to rose, we think that it was a combination of

• an emotional weakness/breakdown (her mother)
• the magic she already had from the horrorterrors
• her body not being strong enough to withhold the horrorterrors influence

what we don’t know is which one of these was the significant factor or whether it was a combination or whether maybe none of them really mattered. 

although jade is called grimbark in canon (in nod to the fanon coinage of it) jade isn’t actually grimdark as we know rose to be. so i wouldn’t even say that jade is grimdark, just under a similar variation

so yeah, it’s exclusive to rose because she’s been the only person to meet the conditions for becoming grimdark
