Okay, so, i understand the trolls and beta kids and shit being like scratch selfs and stuff. but are the ancestors the alternates of the dancestors or are the completely different? the ancestors didnt actually play the game and make scratch versions of themselves, did they?

in A1, meenah’s gang plays their version of sburb and scratches it.

in A2, what were meenah and the crew’s ancestors become karkat’s gang, and they play sburb. their ancestors are the alpha trolls. the condesce is the scratch version of meenah, the sufferer is the scratch version of kankri, etc

we have yet to see any of the beta trolls as ancestors in the A1 universe and we probably never will

So what're the restrictions when dream players take over as the prime life with flying and stuff? The only direct example we see is Sollux, who flies back to the main session, but Sollux is the single character who can fly anyway. Do they maintain flying/dream powers until they leave their moon or...?

I don’t think it’s ever really explained why dream john never flies when he’s on skaia??? maybe because he’s never woken up before and doesn’t know how, or there is some magic specific to prospit/derse that allows flying

I feel like I’m missing something, so please let me know if I am!
