[3/30/13 8:00:55 PM] millions of yen: well ok
[3/30/13 8:01:02 PM] millions of yen: you sign up on the site first
[3/30/13 8:01:18 PM] millions of yen: then you have to message someone telling them your username
[3/30/13 8:01:56 PM] millions of yen: and if you link to a fanventure you’re hosting somewhere else or show what you’re making then they’ll be more willing to give you permission
[3/30/13 8:02:22 PM] millions of yen: like, you actually have to prove that you’re gonna make a real fanventure and not fuck around with others’ fanventures or whatever
xc5:
yo the way you do that is you acquire the skill
like, ok that’s the super simple, disappointing answer because it’s just like “yeah yeah I know I need to get better but I’m making this thing NOW and I don’t think I have time to get better”
but trust me, you do
you always have time
I mean as I said, it took me…. two years to actually know what I was doing? but I put almost zero effort into learning and just kind of half assed everything and learned things REALLY slowly and you do not want to do that
wow look at all these gosh dang tutorials holy frick (brought to you by your friendly neighborhood resources blog) go READ THEM USE THEM you will be doing yourself a HUGE favor
as I said before, if you feel like you’re not good enough then THAT’S AWESOME I’M REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU because yeah that means that you want to get better so go get better and get awesome
with my first fanventure ever which is now discontinued I had very little clue what I was doing and things were pretty difficult for me and over the first 120 pages or so I learned everything I know because that was when I decided to take the time to actually do shit so don’t expect yourself to be amazing at first because the very best way to be good at making a comic or fanventure is by actually making it
some of the best comics of all time show HUMONGOUS art improvement over time look at gunnerkrigg court one of my favorite comics
here’s the first page ever and here’s the latest actual comic page (this page is spoiler-free!)
people improve over time and they do that by making things
and hell I’m still learning! recently I figured out how to turn a flash animation into a proper, good quality gif, and yesterday I played around with fonts and figured out the right font/size and settings for land names! every day I learn something and it’s pretty crazy how much you learn if you go and seek out tutorials and help and learn from the help and advice of others
feeling like you aren’t good enough is the most frustrating and terrible thing ever and oh man have I been there a LOT
and yes as I’ve said before I will help you with ANYTHING you need so if you’ve made a page for your comic and you aren’t happy with it COME TO ME and I will help you the fuck out
I really hope this helped omg
