Therefore the alpha kids are not the babies john cloned. i'd give the exact pages but that would have taken longer to find.

yes?? they are?? john made mom, bro, nanna and grandpa (who are roxy, dirk, jane and jake respectively) by taking their dna and making perfect clones of themselves, then he created himself, jade, rose and dave by combining their dnas
they are themselves because before the scratch happened, the portals transported the ectobabies to beta earth and at different time periods for each, then after the scratch happened the portals’ destinations changed and transported them to alpha earth, again, in different time periods for each ectobaby

besides their location, the quest crypt seems to allow people to ascend regardless if they have their dreamself/are their dreamself while the quest bed only allows people to ascend if they have both selves (“real” self and dreamself) still alive
i have a question that isn't related to resources. do the trolls hate each other? why is that? is it because of the hemospectrum or something? i'm fairly new to homestuck, and seeing their chatlogs, they never seem to want to see or talk to each other, unless it's for beneficial purposes. Anonymous

uhh the trolls’ relationships with each other are pretty much like any human interactions. you’ll like some people and you’ll dislike some people. admittedly, their interactions may seem more harsh because of the conditions on alternia, but for most of the comic they don’t hate each other (save for a few black feels/other exceptions but those other exceptions are not because of the hemospectrum but because of past experiences with each other). karkat says he hates everyone but we all know that’s a big fat lie, he’ll do anything to make other people happy
and the hemospectrum thing, the only people that really seem to care about all that is eridan and equius (and i guess later on gamzee?)

eridan didn’t go through it, eridan’s was just a stylistic choice.
and we still don’t know all the details of grimdark, it’s a speculation about what actually triggered her, and how the horrorterrors gained access to her. rose seems to be triggered by seeing the death of her mother, and then asked the magic cue ball a question–it’s after this that she turns grimdark
as rose is the only person to have gone through grimdark and live, then we only know that death is the way to cure it, seeing as we haven’t been shown anything else
