you’ve made a terrible mistake.
Every character in homestuck is some what misread by the fandom— which is to say not really a bad thing. As the fandom ideas of what the characters are, are a basic representation of like three predominate characteristics. These few features people bother to remember about a character— is the same cookie cutter thing we joke about and the general joke persona of the character becomes the actual thing to a lot of people. Its misunderstanding, over looking, and a genuine mistake. Its really not that big of a deal, as Homestuck is a ginormous web comic and tiny details are easy to over look and its not even that important to the story. BUT THEY ARE IMPORTANT TO ME. As my introduction; I’m a looser and I read into my fave characters way too much. So here we go…..

page is not confirmed male-exclusive but also honestly the whole idea of gendered classes was a bad idea in the first place and no one should care about them

I can’t read hussie’s mind but I’m assuming he started it as a joke due to how sick of cake john was that day and then decided to develop it into something bigger and more important later, so there’s a slight plot tear there and the best solution is to: not think about it too hard
Question: My friend is trying to tell me that John actually doesn't mind baking, it's just the fandom that has made it seem like that. His argument is that (on page ?s=6&p=001923 ) John says "You are sick to death of cake!!! You've been eating it all day." rather than "forever" or whatever. In addition, John is seen baking cakes when he was younger (iirc, i'm too lazy to look it up rn, sorry). I assumed he'd be sick of them just from a constant stream, but. Thoughts?
